Hammond Family

Aroetta Louisa Hale Hammond (Retta) was a remarkable woman, who raised a family of ten children (six to adulthood) virtually alone and totally without the aid of government or other welfare assistance.

Her sons Ronald, Glen and Merrill were all successful in their chosen pursuits. Her fourth son, Floyd, passed away just as his own family was getting started.  Her daughter Ruth was an accomplished musician and teacher who was named 1978 Idaho Mother of the Year. Daughter Viola excels in handicrafts and has blessed many homes with skills learned from childhood by her mother's example.
